configuration

Configurations are stable patterns of recurrent >actions in >networks between different actors, which are perceived to be similar by the actors involved. For example, the middleman in a triangular transaction is a typical configuration in trade. There are many permutations of configurations and knowledge about configurations, which are called meta-configurations. Classes of related configurations are >structures.

A typical way to analyze configurations in EE is the application of game theory, with the >game describing the configuration and the related >language game the knowledge about that configuration. In institutional economics, configurations underly >transaction cost analysis.

Configurations become >institutions if they are linked with cognitive and emotional processes that imply the replication and transfer of the configurations in otehr network contexts with other actors involved.
