Organization and finances
The clinical education ward was developed by the ICURAM team and implemented in cooperation with the Student Dean’s office of the medical faculty, Witten/Herdecke University, and the Department of Internal Medicine at the Herdecke community hospital.
The main emphasis in ICURAM is on integrative medicine as a combination of orthodox, i.e. traditional, and anthroposophical medicine on an academic level. ICURAM is integrated into the general medical curriculum throughout the 6-year duration of the program and constitutes an optional personal focus.
ICURAM was developed under the auspices of Prof. E.G. Hahn, president of the Society for Medical Education (GMA) and professor of Internal Medicine at the University Erlangen.
CEWIM as well as ICURAM are financed by the charity organization for promotion of teaching and research in anthroposophical medicine. The Iona foundation (Amsterdam, NL) made a considerable donation to establish CEWIM.
