International applicants for a regular full-time degree course
You plan to pursue a regular full-time degree course at the UWH and acquire a degree in Witten? In this case you have to submit your application as an international applicant to the faculty in question and undergo admission procedures. Admission requirements and application documents vary from faculty to faculty. Please contact the faculty of your choice for more information:
German language proficiency / Admission
German is the language of instruction in nearly all lectures/seminars at the University Witten/Herdecke; so international applicants planning a regular degree course at the UWH must provide proof of sufficient proficiency in German upon application. Please find out from the faculty of your choice which certificates will be recognized as such proof.

International applicants for an exchange or guest semester
Students from partner universities (ERASMUS students etc.)
Students from UWH partner universities planning to study in Witten for one or two semesters must first submit an application to their home university. As soon as your home university notifies us of your selection for a study period in Witten, the UWH International Office will send all further information to you by e-mail. Students from universities without partnership agreements with UWH (Free Movers)
You plan to study in Witten for one or two semesters only although your home university has no cooperation agreement with the UWH? Please contact the UWH International Office for advice for your application.
International doctoral students
You plan doctoral studies at the UWH? Applicants for a doctorate must submit their application to the faculty in question.
