Tuition fees

International students registering for a regular full-time degree course at the University Witten/Herdecke have to pay tuition fees. 

Students wishing to come to Witten from a partner university  (exchange students) must contact the International Office of their home university. As a rule these students will be exempt from tuition fees.  Guest students from universities without partnership agreement with the University Witten/Herdecke have to pay tuition fees only  for the semesters they spend in Witten.

Semester ticket (student travel card)

All students registering at the UWH are obliged to buy the semester ticket. This travel card is valid for the entire regional public transport system (busses, trams and regional trains) without additional charge. For current prices and additional information see UWH semester ticket.

Social welfare contribution

Prior to registration all students at the University Witten/Herdecke in a regular full-time degree course have to pay a social welfare contribution (Sozialbeitrag)  per semester. Exchange students (e.g. ERASMUS students) staying in Witten for one or two semesters only are exempt from this contribution.
