Semester dates

The academic year at Witten/Herdecke University comprises a winter semester und a  summer semester:

Winter semester (WS): October 1 – March 31  
(lecture period: middle of October to early February)

Summer semester (SS):April 1 – September 30
(lecture period: middle of April to end of July)

Each semester has a lecture period and a lecture-free period . The lecture period of the winter term starts around middle of October and ends early in February. The lecture period of the summer term goes from middle of April to end of July.
