What is TANDEM?
TANDEM is a very specific and informal way of intercultural language acquisition where two individuals of different mother tongues meet regularly in order to learn the other’s language. They decide how and where they meet (cinema, cooking together, pubs, etc.).
The idea
The UWH has numerous international students from all over the world (China, Italy, Russia, Sweden and so on). They add colour to life at the university with their respective language, mentality, and individual experience, and look for contact to German students, whereas many German students would be glad to improve their knowledge of a foreign language. TANDEM is an ideal opportunity for both sides!
This is what you must do
Send an e-mail to international@uni-wh.de with the following data:
- Name
- native language
- target language
- phone.
We will then inform you of potential TANDEM partners whom you may contact on your own initiative.
