Team Emergency Medicine

Witten, a few days before Christmas
Imagine you are a fourth-semester medical student and busy shopping for Christmas presents in Witten’s city.
Suddenly you see a knot of people surrounding a man on the ground. The man does not move, and his skin is bluish.
Nobody helps …

The Team Emergency Medicine organizes practice-oriented first aid courses for all medical students at the preclinical stage. Many students feel insufficiently prepared for emergencies. This is why we believe we must do something to close this gap in medical training.
We offer a weekend course in emergency medicine in the third semester of the preclinical stage. Small groups are introduced to the basics of reanimation, patient care in internal medicine and surgery, and also specific trauma care.

The Team Emergency Medicine at Witten/Herdecke University has students with completed training in emergency rescue, and others with an interest in emergency medicine and in schooling fellow students
