Collection of Papers
In our section "Focal Topics of Chinese Social Sciences" we introduce papers written by Chinese scholars which can be regarded as important and significant in the context of the Chinese debates. Each paper is summarized on part of the Unirule Institute Beijing, our Chinese partner in this "Advances" project. Our objective is to trigger interest on part of Western scholars working in related fields and/or studying social change
in China. The papers are selected by a special committee established at
Unirule Institute. Mostly, they are translated into English
language for the first time.
Our section "Working Papers" presents original work in progress by
Chinese scholars. There is no selection procedure aside from the screening by the editors of this website. We do not specially edit the English texts. So our
primary aim is to provide as many and diverse venues for the
communication between Chinese and Western scholars in as diverse fields
of social science as possible. Chinese scholars are invited to contact
the editors in order to submit working papers.
We appreciate the support by Robert-Bosch-Foundation for funding the translations. We apologize for mistakes, stylistic errors, and misspellings. There are diminishing returns of investment into ever-increasing quality of translations.
