Due to the dynamic spreading of Covid-19 we have come to the decision to postpone the 5th International PPE Conference. We are looking forward to welcome you from 4th to 6th September 2020 at Witten/Herdecke University.

This academic conference welcomes students from all over the world to discuss about "World-scale justice: beyond Global North & Global South?" The focus will be on the socio-economic divide between the so-called Global North and Global South, raising questions around world-scale justice and responsibility.

Every year, the Philosophy Politics and Economics Conference welcomes international students, young researchers and scholars of various academic backgrounds at Witten/Herdecke University. Within the three days of this academic, interdisciplinary and student-organized conference the participants get the chance to receive high level input from experts, personally engage in workshops, participate in panel discussions and grow a network with like-minded students in the fields of politics, philosophy and economics.

The 5th International PPE Conference will take place from 4th to 6th September 2020 and will focus on the socioeconomic divide between the so-called Global North and Global South, raising questions around world-scale justice and responsibility such as the following: To what extent is the Global South dependent on the Global North and vice-versa? What are the socio-economic effects of the dynamics between the two hemispheres in the Global Governance? Who is going to carry the burden of climate change? Is the Global North - Global South concept still relevant and does it explain inequalities in our modern world?

The learning goal is to help participants understand the historical emerge of the Global North - Global South divide and to critically discuss its implications for current challenges such as climate change, globalisation, migration and development.
