VERSCHOBEN AUF 2021: Global Social Witnessing_Lab 2020

VERSCHOBEN AUF 2021: Global Social Witnessing_Lab 2020

Global Social Witnessing-Lab 2020 will provide a space where diverse perspectives/experiences from artists, scientists, spiritual practitioners, and political activists will inspire participants to better understand and embody GSW within their mind, heart, and body. Throughout the lab, we will co-create new ideas, strategies, tools, and energy to help us become mature global citizens in our times of disruption and transformation.

"Global Social Witnessing is a way to find out whether a system is aware of itself or not," Thomas Hübl said in an interview with Otto Scharmer at the Collective Trauma Online Summit. Otto replied: "Witnessing is shifted to the level of the collective. An ability at the collective level is activated." They will continue this dialogue in the GSW_Conference.Lab.

Global Social Witnessing is the emergent human capacity to mindfully attend to global events with an embodied awareness, thereby creating an inner world space mirroring these events. In the 21st century the school and university has a major responsibility for creating spaces in which a cosmopolitan society can be prepared for the future, where students can practice ‘global social witnessing’ (GSW) in order to develop human capacity to attend mindfully to global events with embodied awareness. If our future is to be cosmopolitan, we need to establish cosmopolitan education.

Contributors are: Otto Scharmer (live video conference), Thomas Hübl, Terje Sparby, Wener Vogd, Aftab Omer, Shelley Sacks, Georg Müller-Christ, Stefan Häfliger, Roman Huber, Markus Stockhausen and other scientists, artists and activists.
