Managing Networks: Building Trust for Innovation – RMI Online Research Seminar

Anne Gausdal from Kristiania University College, Norway, talks about the role of trust in collaborative innovation and how it can be developed.

One of the reasons for firms to enter business networks is to gain access to knowledge, ideas or partners that may help them innovate. Because it is generally acknowledged to be conducive to successful network performance, trust is important in such networks. In this seminar, Prof. Gausdal will build on her extensive research and practical experience in order to shed light on how trust and trust building may function in networks.

Anne H. Gausdal is a Professor in Organisation, Management and Innovation at the Department of Leadership and Organisation and Vice Dean for Research at Kristiania University College, Norway. Her research areas cover trust and trust-building, safety leadership, emergency management, network management, methods for innovation and regional innovation. Gausdal holds a PhD in business economics from Nord University (2008), Norway. She has published many articles in leading international journals such as Industry and Innovation, Regional Studies and Journal of Trust Research.

RMI Research Seminars provide a forum for discussing latest findings in research areas matching or complementing those of the Reinhard Mohn Institute of Management at Witten/Herdecke University. Speakers are usually international, early-career and/or interdisciplinary-minded researchers. Due to the corona pandemic, the seminars are currently held online via Zoom.

This seminar is the second of three in the RMI Online Research Seminar Series of Summer Semester 2021. In the previous session on 20 May 2021, Ass.Prof. Eugenia Rosca (Tilburg University) spoke about "Supply Chain Sustainability". On 15 July 2021, Ass.Prof. Hannah Trittin-Ulbrich’s (Leuphana University) topic will be “Digitalization and Responsibility”.
