How international students live and study from abroad during the corona pandemic

You come to Witten from abroad to study and then corona hits. What does it feel like to be an international student in Witten studying digitally? A couple of our Master PPE students share their experiences with us in this short video.

Most of us have gotten used to the remote study life as well as the home office. During the lockdown period, we all watched the news to see how other countries deal with the pandemic and how everyone is affected differently.

And like most of our students, many of our international students went home after the last exams in February, not knowing they won’t be able to come back to Witten to start the summer semester 2020.

In this short video, some of our international students from the M.A Philosophy, Politics and Economics share their experience from India, Austria, Italy and the USA. Thankfully, digitalization makes it possible for everyone to keep studying, no matter where they are.

We all hope that it will be possible to be back in Witten next semester but we have to follow the rules and guidelines set by the state and thus it is not yet clear when it will be possible to be together on campus again. The Coronavirus page will keep you informed.

However, we can guarantee that all international students studying our English-speaking Master programmes that are stuck abroad will be able to start the semester digitally. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Office of Student Affairs or the International Office. We are here to help!

Big thank you to Carla Nassisi, Joseph Pudota, Shalaka Kaprekar, Mo Hassan and Feroze Menon for sharing a part of their life and experience with us and Ramona for producing the video.
