Chair of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy I

While clinical psychology focuses on mental disorders and psychological aspects of somatic disorders and diseases, psychotherapy involves psychological treatment interventions tailored to the respective problem area.
Among other topics, the Chair addresses :

• Etiology of mental disorders,
• Factors contributing to the maintenance of mental disorders,
• Diagnostics of mental disorders,
• Psychological treatment concepts,
• Training and further education of psychotherapists.

The Chair of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy I is headed by Professor Dr. Ulrike Willutzki and focuses on disorder-specific treatment approaches (e.g. social anxiety disorders, depression), the activation of resources in difficult situations, online therapy sessions, and psychotherapist research.

The Chair offers courses in the context of both degree programmes of the School of Psychology and Psychotherapy.

Center for Mental Health and Psychotherapy (ZPP)

The Center for Mental Health and Psychotherapy (Zentrum für Psychische Gesundheit und Psychotherapie – ZPP) at Witten/Herdecke University, headed by Professor Dr. Ulrike Willutzki, is closely linked to the Chair. The Center offers psychotherapeutic support for people in difficult situations and with mental disorders as part of a teaching and research outpatient clinic.
