Naturopathy colloquia:
Here we expect participants to independently prepare a presentation of around 15 minutes (plus 5 min. discussion) on a topic of their choice in naturopathy and complementary medicine and to discuss this with the colloquium leader in advance . The independent lecture should give an overview of the respective topic and be based on the following structure:
- Background, significance and practice
- Presentation of studies / systematic reviews (e.g. search at PubMed.gov, CamBase.de etc.)
- Critical-discursive preparation and evaluation (conclusion)

Important information:
The sessions will be held via ZOOM. The link will be sent to those registered in good time.
In addition to the two compulsory NHV introductory events, students are expected to choose three specific NHV seminars. However, those who participate in IBAM for at least three months can replace these three subject-specific seminars.
The NHV block is then concluded with the colloquia in groups of five via Zoom. Each student(!) presents a 15-minute PPT presentation on a topic of their choice, which has been agreed with Prof Büssing in advance, at the final colloquium. However, those who take part in the integrative daily routine of the IBAM and write a paper on the case day (casuistry) or a current(!) written paper as part of the IBAM and receive confirmation of this can replace the final colloquium.

Doctoral colloquium in integrative medicine
In this colloquium, existing and future doctoral students can learn how PhD theses in integrative medicine, including app-based work, can work. At each colloquium, a doctoral candidate will present their work as a basis for a discussion of content and methodology.
The event takes place weekly on Tuesdays from 16.00-17.30 online (via Zoom).
Registration via UWE

Doctoral studies and master's theses
Are you interested in doctoral studies at our chair? Then we look forward to receiving your e-mail.
To find out about doctoral studies at our university in general, you can find all the important documents under PhD programmes.
If you already have an idea/suggested topic, you are welcome to send an initial synopsis and a CV to the lecturers qualified to teach at professorial level (Prof David Martin, Prof Arndt Büssing and Prof Ekkehart Jenetzky). The exposé should describe what you want to investigate and with which methods or with which research group.
The following scheme will help you with the elaboration:
- Research question and objectives
- State of research (Which studies already exist?)
- Possible methodology / research design
- Who is the research group (e.g. patients)?
- What research steps are planned?
If you do not yet have a clear idea, but a thematic focus, then we can also meet for an exploratory discussion. We often have projects that you could join.
For supervision of a Master's thesis , please contact the doctoral researcher in the appropriate department or the secretariat directly.
Interprofessional research training group
The IGIM at the UW/H offers a cross-university structured funding programme for doctoral candidates and students to support scientific training and guidance for projects in the field of integrative and anthroposophic medicine.
