Two more eCarsharing stations for Witten are being built at Witten/Herdecke University (UW/H), where wuddi GmbH, franchisee of SHARE NOW, will offer station-based eCarsharing from 1 April 2023.

"We have already been able to gain experience at two car parks - at the Technical Town Hall and at the Wideyparkplatz car park in Witten - of what a user-friendly and digital eCarsharing service needs to be successful. We are delighted to now be opening two more stations with Witten/Herdecke University and continuing the positive development," says Lea Dillmann, Business Development, wuddi GmbH.

"Thanks to wuddi, it was possible for the first time in Münster in 2019 to use eCarsharing 24/7 without a contract or deposit. Since then, more than 3,500 customers have opted for wuddi. Since November 2022, wuddi GmbH has been a SHARE NOW franchisee, giving citizens and companies access to all vehicles in the SHARE NOW network in Europe," adds Manuel Schlottbom, Managing Director of wuddi GmbH.

From 1 April 2023, interested citizens and companies will be able to use a Renault ZOE at Stockumer Str. 10 and Alfred-Herrhausen-Straße 50 directly in front of Witten/Herdecke University.

There are two free public registration dates for the new eCarsharing offer at Witten/Herdecke University, which both university members and interested Witten citizens can attend. The registration events will take place on 4 April and 2 May between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on campus at Alfred-Herrhausen-Str. 50.

"With the eCarsharing service, we are offering our employees an easy way to complete business trips with low emissions and are continuing to position ourselves as a pioneer for sustainable mobility," says Dr Dirk Jakobs, Vice President for Organisational Development at UW/H. The eCarsharing scheme is part of a wide range of existing services offered by UW/H, including bike leasing or the job ticket for employees, the option to use a university cargo bike or the mobile bike workshop.

"We are delighted about the growing range of eCarsharing options in Witten. The topic is an important building block in driving forward the transport transition in Witten. Thanks to its simple, transparent pricing model and billing system, the SHARE NOW service offers an uncomplicated introduction to eCar sharing," says Patrick Berg, Head of Energy Services at Stadtwerke Witten.

SHARE NOW vehicles can be hired from €2.55 per hour or €25.50 per day. Users can use the SHARE NOW app to conveniently rent a vehicle at one of the more than 50 local stations and return it at the same station without opening hours or paperwork. As at all SHARE NOW locations, SHARE NOW covers the refuelling and charging costs of the vehicles.

With the introduction of SHARE NOW, users in Witten are part of the global SHARE NOW community of over 3.5 million customers in more than 17 cities. This gives them access to the 10,000 vehicles in the SHARE NOW fleet across Europe.

All information on sustainable mobility at the UW/H can be found in the mobility portal.
