How you as a healthcare professional can support the study
Do you have regular contact with parents of babies and expectant parents?
If so, you may have already been asked about paediatric vaccinations and your recommendations contribute to parents' vaccination decisions.
Perhaps you have also wondered why the recommendations for vaccination dates in different countries sometimes differ greatly or what the consequences are if vaccinations cannot be given in accordance with the STIKO recommendations. It is unclear what impact such a delayed start to immunisation has on children's health. The INITIAL study aims to close this gap in the evidence.
The newly gained knowledge can be incorporated into the counselling of parents. In order to optimise the provision of information, parents will also be asked in the online-based study about their wishes regarding vaccination advice.
In order to reach as many parents as possible, we would be delighted if you could distribute the study flyers and invite parents to take part.

Recruitment process and distribution of tasks

How can you support the study?
Talk to parents and parents-to-be about the study and hand out a flyer.
After five years, parents should also take a short questionnaire to their child's doctor, in which diagnoses of asthma, hay fever, neurodermatitis and food allergies should be confirmed by a doctor.
We ask that each multiplier orders the flyers to be distributed separately. This will allow us to determine the participation rate for assessing external validity. Thank you very much!
