The next generation of scholars

Promoting the next generation of scholars is one of the key tasks of the faculty, which has the right to award doctorates and postdoctoral lecturing qualifications (habilitation). We are proud of the large number of current doctoral candidates and the success of our PhD graduates and graduates with postdoctoral lecturing qualifications in science and society.

1. Doctorate

The Faculty of Management, Economics an Society at Witten/Herdecke University awards the academic degree of a doctor in economics (Doctor rerum politicarum – Dr. rer. pol.) pursuant to regular doctoral procedures.

2. Habilitation (postdoctoral lecturing qualification)

The Faculty of Management, Economics an Society offers postdoctoral researchers the opportunity to acquire a postdoctoral lecturing qualification in all disciplines and foci represented at the faculty.

The faculty supports doctoral candidates in many ways, whether in form of a structured doctoral training programme or seminars. Doctoral training is divided into four major fields:
