Principles
Witten/Herdecke University (UW/H) as an institution of higher education and research attaches great importance to the rules of good scientific practice and their communication to undergraduates, diploma and doctoral students, and young scientists.
In 1999 UW/H therefore started to implement recommendations to ensure good scientific practice by DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft). An ombudsperson was appointed as an adviser to act in cases of suspected scientific misconduct, and a committee of faculty representatives was established to investigate such cases.
