Formerly located in the building of the railway station, the unikat(club) has moved right into the city to Westfalenstraße 19, mid-way between the pedestrian area and the university.
The new location has three entire floors for cultural events, partying etc.
There is enough space for diverse event formats with a dance hall, a painting studio, a conference room in the making, and our spacious sitting room with sofas.
The basement offers club atmosphere for theatre, concerts and festivities of all kinds.
The club is an initiative of dedicated UW/H students who meet on a regular basis in Studium fundamentale contexts and others, for the benefit of the university but also for the fun of it.
They organize a party at the start of each semester to welcome the beginners.
Presentations of radio plays by Uli Land and the music club are regular events.
The unikat(club) organizes movie nights, theatre and literature performances and cosy pre-Christmas get-togethers, but also TV nights for major sports events such as World or European football championships.
All this requires a continuous effort and much support.
We welcome techies, people with organizational abilities and DIY skills, gardeners, fund raisers, people who know how to supervise on-going projects and start new ones. The diversity of minds at Witten/Herdecke University is our most important asset.
For information, also for details of our semester program, see Facebook (Unikat Uwh) and our homepage.
