The 7th Framework Project RightTimePlaceCare was carried out between 1/2010 and 9/2013 and was scientifically and administratively coordinated by Witten/Herdecke University (UW/H). Professor Dr. phil. Gabriele Meyer (currently: Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg) was responsible for the scientific co-ordination. Dr. rer. medic. Astrid Stephan was in charge of the project management. In total, partners from eight European countries participated in RightTimePlaceCare.
The development of European „Good Practice“ recommendations for caring and looking after people with dementia at the transition between home care and residential long-term care was the target of RightTimePlaceCare.
Various disciplines, such as nursing science, geriatric medicine, geriatric psychiatry, social sciences, psychology and economy, were represented in the consortium.
Mixed methods were used to process the research issues, i.e. literature reviews (systematic and integrative), expert interviews, cohort study, focus groups and panels of experts. RightTimePlaceCare comprised six working packages.
