An interdisciplinary team plans, coordinates and supports the entire Stufu programme - from seminar organisation to the development of innovative educational concepts.

What is the WittenLab. Zukunftslabor Studium fundamentale?

WittenLab offers students and Witten citizens the opportunity to engage intensively with social, cultural and scientific challenges. The mission and goal of WittenLab. Zukunftslabor Studium fundamentale is to gain new perspectives on current challenges, develop innovative solutions and gain a deep understanding of complex interrelationships.

As a future lab, it sees itself as a place that promotes critical thinking, responsible action and active participation in social change processes.

The WittenLab. Zukunftslabor Studium fundamentale is an umbrella for a range of different activities. In addition to the Studium fundamentale, a multidisciplinary team organises public cultural events, seminars and lecture series, scientific events and an artist-in-residence programme, and supports civic engagement alongside voluntary work during studies. The work of the WittenLab. thus extends far beyond the boundaries of the university.

Studium fundamentale

One of WittenLab's main areas of focus is organising and coordinating the courses offered as part of the Studium fundamentale programme. Every Thursday, UW/H students meet for Stufu events.

The WittenLab-Magazin

In its fifth edition, our annual WittenLab magazine once again brings together a wide range of voices from international experts, academics and students on a timely topic: media and democracy are undergoing a severe test.

In this critical phase, it seems more important than ever to better understand the structures, influencing factors and effects of the media that shape our worldviews.
