IHK in-house visit to Witten/Herdecke University CAMPUS X COMPANY

Students bend over a table and discuss.

The future is created where business and science work together.

The challenges of our time - from digitalisation and skills shortages to changing markets - affect all sectors. This makes close cooperation between business and science all the more important.

This time, the Witten/Herdecke University is opening its doors during the IHK's in-house visit - giving not only IHK members, but all interested parties the opportunity to experience knowledge transfer up close and take a look behind the scenes. The UW/H invites you to familiarise yourself with a learning concept that focuses on real cooperation: students work on real issues - together with companies.

The event focuses on impulses and perspectives on how learning and cooperation between universities and companies are changing.

Programme:

  • Opening: Prof. Dr Jürgen Bock, university ambassador of the IHK Mittleres Ruhrgebiet, opens the event, introduces himself in his role as university ambassador and gives a brief impulse on the importance of cooperation between science and business.
  • Transformation: Dr Christian Geßner, Centre Director of the ZNU - Centre for Sustainable Leadership, focuses on transformation in organisations. From his experience in supporting companies, he shows why successful change requires structure, orientation and people who have learnt how to deal with change.
  • New learning: Manuel Dolderer, Project Manager Transformations at the Faculty of Management, Economics and Society, shows why learning needs to be rethought today. When knowledge is available at all times thanks to AI, the role of the university shifts: attitude, judgement and the ability to remain capable of acting in complex situations become crucial.

By taking part, all interested parties have the opportunity to network with other companies and gain new impetus. Registration is free and can be done online.
