Chair of Corporate Finance

The Chair of Corporate Finance conducts research into issues relating to corporate finance, as well as the functioning and stability of financial markets. The Chair specialises in the study of systemic risks, innovations in the banking market and the safeguarding of financial market stability. The Chair’s research is internationally recognised and is regularly published in top-tier A-level journals.

A key area of research at the Chair is the analysis of systemic risks. Methods are developed to identify and quantify such risks in global financial markets, with the aim of creating precise metrics and indicators that provide early warning signals for potential systemic crises. The research analyses the economic impacts of systemic risks and develops strategies for prevention and mitigation. In doing so, it examines the role of various actors, such as banks, regulatory authorities and central banks. Another key area of research focuses on the complex interdependencies between different financial institutions and markets.
