Teaching
The Chair of Trauma Surgery/Orthopaedics is integrated into the teaching of the model degree programme in Medicine, particularly during the clinical phase: in the ‘Core Blocks in Surgical Subjects I and II’ (KBOF I and II).
Students take part in ward rounds and case discussions on the trauma and orthopaedic wards and are involved in the work there, as well as in the outpatient clinic and the operating theatre. Seminars and case presentations take place daily, with the presentation of patients serving as an introduction to the respective seminar topic. Case presentations are given by the students, including the patient’s medical history and, where applicable, X-ray images. In addition, a diagnostic and treatment plan is to be proposed and discussed.
Details of the Chair’s courses can be found in the course catalogue for the model degree programme in Medicine.
