University management and committees
As a non-governmental university, Witten/Herdecke University is both a university in the academic sense and a non-profit limited company. In order to fulfil its diverse public welfare-oriented and university policy tasks in the best possible way, it needs strong management and future-oriented committees.
Our faculties
The two faculties "Health" and "Management, Economics and Society" stand for innovation, practical relevance, equal opportunities and the promotion of young talent in equal measure. In our degree programmes, we encourage students to think "out-of-the-box" so that they can become problem solvers and shapers of the future. In doing so, we attach great importance to networking different disciplines and changing perspectives.
WittenLab. Zukunftslabor Studium fundamentale
The centrepiece of Witten/Herdecke University and of central importance for looking beyond one's own subject is the WittenLab. Zukunftslabor Studium fundamentale. It is the cornerstone of our teaching and promotes the individual personal development of our students by providing the necessary space for reflection and creativity.
Research and teaching beyond the campus
Our outpatient clinics
The Faculty of Health operates three outpatient services in the immediate vicinity of the campus: The University Outpatient Clinic for Integrative Healthcare and Naturopathy, the Centre for Mental Health and Psychotherapy (ZPP) and the Witten University Dental Clinic. Here we demonstrate our specialist expertise and treat patients in the fields of general medicine, dentistry and psychotherapy.

With our affiliated institutes and centres as well as chairs and professorships at clinics throughout NRW, we pursue practice-oriented and networked research and teaching. This enables us to provide new impetus in the fields of medicine, business and society and to bring together scientists from different disciplines.
