What sets the Faculty of Health apart

Strong together in healthcare

Medicine, dentistry, nursing science and psychology work together on an interdisciplinary basis – in teaching, research and patient care.

Practical degree programme

We prepare our students for everyday medical practice right from the start – through problem-based, case-based learning in small groups.

Study medicine or dentistry without a numerus clausus (NC)

Reflective skills and empathy are just as important as a willingness to work hard. This is how we select our students.

Social engagement during and after university

Our students are involved in projects both at home and abroad; most of these projects were initiated by the students themselves. We support them in this.

Administrative bodies of the Faculty of Health

Ground-breaking teaching and research are only possible through participation and exchange. That is why the faculty’s members are actively involved in various faculty- and university-wide administrative bodies, such as

  • the Senate, the university’s highest academic decision-making body.
  • the Faculty Council, the faculty’s highest body for resolutions.
  • the Faculty Assembly, which serves to inform all members and affiliates of the faculty and to facilitate the formation of opinions.
  • the Conference of Chairs, which facilitates regular dialogue with the deans and other representatives of key faculty bodies.
  • in the APL Commission, which decides on the award of honorary professorships.
  • on the Ethics Committee, which assesses research projects from an ethical, legal and social perspective.
  • in the WiMi Network, which connects academic staff with one another.
  • on the Student Council, which represents the interests of all students at the Faculty of Health.
