Habilitation at UW/H
We are paving the way to a professorship
Following a PhD, the habilitation is another important step in an academic career. This highest academic qualification enables the holder to teach and conduct research independently at universities (Facultas Docendi). As a rule, the habilitation is a key prerequisite for taking up a permanent professorship at a university. As one of the few private universities, Witten/Herdecke University not only has the right to award doctorates but also full habilitation rights, and provides expert support on the path to a university professorship.
