Growing together
Nurturing talent and investing in the future
At Witten/Herdecke University (UW/H), our motto ‘Here we grow’ means more than just words. We promise those who come to us that we will provide a place where they can grow – alongside one another, together and for one another.
Support and challenge are central aspects of our identity. We believe that personal and academic growth is only possible through a balance of support and challenge. Our students should not only acquire knowledge, but also learn to apply this knowledge responsibly and innovatively.
As a supporter, you will help us to sow the seeds and nurture a wide variety of areas of development at the university, acting as a driving force for the growth of young talent!
There are many ways to pass on your knowledge, make a difference and leave a lasting legacy: whether through a donation, active involvement in one of our administrative bodies, or fruitful participation in our vibrant business network.
Become part of our exclusive network and grow with us!
Serving on the Board of Trustees is something very close to my heart. I value the opportunity it gives me to contribute to the promotion of local science and to an asset that is absolutely vital in today’s world: education.
Seeing how my daughter has grown both professionally and personally through her studies fills me with a deep sense of gratitude. I am happy to play my part in ensuring that UW/H continues to equip young talents with the knowledge and skills they need to actively shape the world of tomorrow.
As graduates, we wish to ensure that the Stufu continues to provide a unique complement to the excellent academic training for the students of tomorrow.
Through the Deutschlandstipendium, we support committed, highly educated young people. We are happy to support this.
Helping to shape things, thinking ahead, making a difference … that’s what my UW/H degree means to me. I’m grateful for that and am happy to give something back.
This is how we grow together!

Do you have any further questions?
What scholarship programmes are available to me?
As well as supporting specific projects, you can make a general, unrestricted donation to Witten/Herdecke University at any time. You can rest assured that, even without a specific project in mind, your donation will always be used to advance scholarship, research and education.
If you are looking for further scholarship programmes, please do not hesitate to contact us at any time!
How can I find out where my donation is going?
We issue a receipt for every donation we receive. If you support us as a backer on a project, we will, if you wish, keep you informed of the project’s progress and show you where your donation has made a difference.
In the case of a non-project-specific donation, your donation will always be used in the fields of science, research and education. It will not simply ‘get lost’ in the administrative machinery.
Will I receive a donation receipt?
Yes, donations to Witten/Herdecke University are tax-deductible. To enable us to send you a donation receipt, please enter your full address on the donation form or on your bank transfer form.
For tax purposes, donations are voluntary and gratuitous contributions of money or goods. There is no exchange of services between the donor and the recipient of the donation.
Contributions for which the University provides something in return do not constitute donations but rather sponsorship. No donation receipt may be issued for such contributions. It is irrelevant whether the services provided are in terms of equivalence. It is not permitted to split a contribution into a donation and an exchange of services.
Can I propose or set up my own funding projects?
Please feel free to share your project ideas with us. Where possible, we will put you in touch with relevant contacts from the faculties and support you in bringing your idea to fruition.
Please get in touch with us. Dr Hermann Siedler and Katharina Bruder are happy to act as contact persons for you.
