Support for committed young talents
The Deutschlandstipendium (Germany Scholarship)
With your other half, we make a whole
The Deutschlandstipendium (Germany Scholarship)
Since 2011, particularly gifted and high-achieving students of all nationalities have been supported by the Germany Scholarship from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. In addition to their academic achievements, scholarship recipients distinguish themselves through their civic and social engagement.
Scholarship recipients receive a monthly grant of 300 euros – half of which is provided by private sponsors, with the other half contributed by the federal government.
With you as a partner, Witten/Herdecke University aims to support talented and committed young students in the fields of health, business and society through the Germany Scholarship!
The scholarship gives gifted students the freedom to further develop and realise their potential.
As a company, foundation or private individual, you are supporting the specialists and leaders of tomorrow, the entrepreneurs and the forward thinkers – entirely in keeping with the tradition of Witten/Herdecke University. You are investing in a high-quality professional and academic education and, in doing so, in the future of our society.

Become a benefactor – Here’s how it works!
Who is eligible for funding?
Funding is available to both freshers and students in later semesters who demonstrate particular potential and above-average academic achievement. In addition, social commitment, a willingness to take on responsibility and specific personal circumstances are also taken into account.
How are scholarship recipients selected?
Students must actively submit an application for a Deutschlandstipendium.
To do so, they submit a completed application form, Transcripts of Records and a personal statement. The scholarships are awarded for a minimum of two semesters at a time; after this period, even current scholarship recipients must reapply for the scholarship.
An admissions committee selects the scholarship recipients from among the applicants.
How can I support the students?
There are various ways in which you can provide support:
- A scholarship: You can support an annual scholarship for a student with a monthly contribution of 150 euros.
- Multiple scholarships: You can support between two and a maximum of eight scholarships for students.
When selecting the recipient of your sponsorship, we take into account your preferred discipline as well as, where applicable, personal and social criteria.
