What is the Trendence survey?
The Trendence survey is a study that is recognised throughout Germany. Every year, the market research company Trendence collects data on how students assess their degree programme, their university and their future career opportunities, among other things.
Students at Witten/Herdecke University also take part in the Trendence survey to assess the quality of their degree programme. The results show: Witten students in the field of business and society as well as health are highly satisfied with their studies and are more likely to recommend their university to others than students from other universities.

The results of the latest Trendence survey
Survey 2026
- As in last year’s survey, students rate the academic expertise of the teaching staff, as well as their motivation and availability, particularly highly. In the field of Economics and Society, satisfaction is as high as 100%.
- High satisfaction ratings were once again achieved for the practical relevance of the courses, the support and advisory services for students, and the career opportunities offered by the Career Services.
- The high level of identification students feel with Witten/Herdecke University is also reflected, as before, in their willingness to recommend the university: over 60% of students would recommend studying at Witten/Herdecke University to their friends and family. On average across all students surveyed, this figure stands at just 25%.
Survey 2025
- Almost 100% of students are satisfied with the teaching staff in terms of didactic and subject-specific expertise, motivation and accessibility.
- The career opportunities offered by Career Services, the practical relevance of the degree programme and student services and advice also received top ratings.
- Around 60% of students are very willing to recommend their degree programme to friends and acquaintances. This value is twice as high as the average of all respondents.
