Sustainable living in Witten
Sustainable places and initiatives in the region
A lively scene for sustainable entrepreneurship is growing in Witten. Numerous start-ups, initiatives and businesses promote a flourishing, sustainable consumer culture in the centre of the city.
They make Witten a place worth living in, which also has a lot to offer outside of studying.
The students themselves actively shape city life and create innovative projects and business models that enrich both the local community and the environment. In order to make these inspiring places visible, the UW/H has developed the "Sustainable living in Witten" guide in cooperation with the city of Witten.
The reference guide provides an overview of various initiatives, start-ups, shops and meeting places in Witten and the surrounding area that combine sustainability and entrepreneurial spirit. From fair-trade coffee in the Kijamii Café to the "Radgeberin" bicycle repair shop and unpackaged shops to the cooperatively organised regional shop - numerous places bring sustainable ideas to life.
The guide is intended for anyone who is interested in a sustainable way of life and wants to support the local scene. Whether students, citizens or guests - the guide shows where it is possible to shop, eat and be active sustainably and how committed entrepreneurs are making our city a better place to live.
Our funding partners
