Teaching in clinical psychology and research into mindfulness-based psychotherapy and embodiment in mental health disorders

Clinical psychology deals with mental disorders and the psychological aspects of somatic disorders and illnesses.

The Chair of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy II provides teaching on both degree programmes offered by the School of Psychology and Psychotherapy. The department’s main research specialisations are mindfulness-based psychotherapy, embodiment in mental disorders, and psychotherapy for people with disabilities.

The following topics are covered in clinical psychology:

  • Causes of disorders and factors that perpetuate them,
  • classification and diagnosis,
  • the development of psychotherapeutic skills
  • psychological treatment of mental disorders.
