Research

One of the research specialisations of the Chair of Research Methodology and Statistics in Psychology is the evaluation of creative therapeutic approaches (art therapies). Music therapy in particular, but also drawing-based approaches, form a key focus here.

Another key research specialisation focuses on the health care economics aspects of health care research. Closely linked to this is the mathematical modelling of disease processes using stochastic process models, such as Markov processes.

In clinical research, a key methodological focus lies in the development and application of statistical methods for detecting regression-to-the-mean and placebo effects, as well as in the use of subjective probabilities and effect sizes expressed in common language (common language effect size).
