Acupuncture in the emergency services - acupressure in emergency situations

During this weekend, case reports and studies on acupuncture in emergency services and emergency situations from recent years will be presented. Participants will be encouraged to use acupuncture and acupressure safely as a supportive and adjunctive therapy for selected indications in emergency and rescue services.

The following topics will be discussed:

  • Acupuncture safety
  • Scientific principles of acupuncture and publications on acupuncture in medline and NATURE
  • Emergency acupuncture in war, crisis and military medicine
  • Mass casualty incidents
  • Yamamoto New Cranial Acupuncture (YNSA)
  • Body acupuncture: One point acupuncture and points of TCM body acupuncture relevant to emergency medicine
  • Ear acupuncture: NADA and battlefield ac.
  • Central mastoid somatotopy
  • Emergency card - "cheat sheet" : suggestions for treatments of various emergencies and clinical pictures from practice for practice - the importance of acupressure

 

Case studies from practice and practical exercises will help to put what has been learnt directly into practice.
