‘Apprenticeship Employer of the Year 2026’: University of Witten/Herdecke ranks among the top five

The University of Witten/Herdecke (UW/H) is one of the top five training organisations in the Central Ruhr region. In the competition for ‘Training Organisation of the Year 2026’, the Central Ruhr Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) has selected the university as one of the top five.

Jury seeks best training organisation

Among other things, the assessment focused on corporate culture and training practices; in particular, how the University of Witten/Herdecke supports its trainees on a personal level. In addition, the 100 best apprentices were honoured with the ‘Stars of Apprenticeship’ awards, whilst the ‘Apprentice of the Year’ and ‘Trainer of the Year’ were also recognised.

The University of Witten/Herdecke offers practical and future-oriented apprenticeship places for office management assistants and dental assistants. During the apprenticeship as an office management assistant, the focus is on the organisation and administration of university operations. The training programme for dental assistants centres on working directly with patients and dentists, including assisting with treatments and carrying out administrative tasks. Both professions offer a solid foundation for a wide range of career opportunities in a dynamic environment.
