Dr.
Dhouha Mejri
Researcher
Faculty of Management, Economics and Society (Department of Philosophy, Politics and Economics)
Dr Dhouha Mejri is a Research Associate and Lecturer in Statistics and Data Analysis at the Department of Philosophy, Politics and Economics in the Faculty of Management, Economics and Society. She is a statistician with 9 years of teaching and research experience in data mining and statistical process control. Her areas of specialisation include adaptive statistical process control, machine learning, business analytics and data analysis. She participates as a reviewer in various international journals such as Technometrics and Quality Technology and is interested in developing an automated deep learning concept in Python or R. Text mining for business reports, optimisation of digitisation strategy through artificial intelligence, digital transformation and the use of green technology in companies are the topics Dr. Mejri is currently researching.
Dr Mejri previously taught at the Faculty of Statistics at the Technical University in Dortmund and at the SRH University in Hamm and Leverkusen. She completed her doctorate at the University of Dortmund in December 2015 at the Chair of Computational Statistics.
Dr Mejri has previously worked at the Technical University of Dortmund, the ESSEC University in Tunisia and the SRH University in Hamm and Leverkusen. Since 2022, she has been a research assistant for statistics and quantitative methods at the Institute of Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Witten/Herdecke University. Since October 2022, she has been working together with Prof. Dr Lukas Stötzer in the fields of statistics and data analysis as well as mathematics.
Research
Dr Dhouha Mejri has developed the first new quality control chart based on machine learning methods. In fact, Dr Mejri has developed several new methods in statistical process monitoring and advanced dynamic data mining methods, such as: "Dynamic Weighted Majority Winnow DWMW, Time Adjusting Control Limit Chart (TACL), Dynamic Weighted Majority Control (DWMC) Chart and the Dynamic Ensemble Chart (DEC).
Dr Mejri has cooperated with the project B5: "Statistical modelling of nonlinear dynamic processes" at the Technical University of Dortmund. She conducted research on bridge fatigue and investigated how multivariate adaptive quality control can optimise the monitoring of bridges under fatigue and perform efficient prediction of bridge life. She has also researched and analysed data on the Wittener Straße bridge in Bochum.
