Hannes Wendler is a research assistant at the Chair of Fundamentals of Psychology.
Research
The main areas of research focus on the fundamentals of psychology, in particular theoretical psychology and phenomenological psychology, the theory of value (axiology) and philosophical ethics, psychopathology and psychoanalysis, empathy, the human-animal interface, and applied topics in aesthetics and culture.
Resume
Hannes Wendler studied philosophy and psychology in Innsbruck and Heidelberg, with a research placement in Cambridge. In the field of philosophy, he obtained his PhD from the University of Cologne with a thesis entitled ‘Désordre du Cœur. Theoretical Foundations and Clinical Conceptualisations of Axiological Psychopathology’. In the field of psychology, he is currently completing his PhD at the Universities of Cologne and Witten/Herdecke with a thesis on “Clinical Value Psychology: Investigations into Empirical Value Psychology using Implicit Measures and Experimental Methodology”. He is undertaking training in the specialisation “depth psychology-based and analytical psychotherapy” at the Institute for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy in the Rhineland.
