The climate crisis is no longer a matter for the future, but a reality of business management. Companies must not only become climate-friendly, but also climate-resilient. This is precisely where DSR & Partners – Climate Adaptation Advisors comes in.
Daniel Schmitz-Remberg, a UW/H graduate and expert in climate risks and adaptation, founded the strategy consultancy in 2023. Since then, the firm has been helping companies to identify and assess risks such as heat, water stress and supply chain disruptions at an early stage, and to translate these into manageable strategies and investment decisions.
DSR & Partners’ approach: making climate adaptation understandable, measurable and actionable. Using the specially developed CARMA Resilience Check, companies can quickly obtain an initial assessment of how well prepared they are for the consequences of climate change – and where there is an urgent need for action.
Building on this, DSR & Partners develops bespoke adaptation strategies, ranging from risk screening and cost-benefit analyses to implementation roadmaps. A key focus is on developing new metrics such as the ‘Return on Resilience Investment (RORI)’, which quantifies the financial benefits of prevention and resilience measures against climate-related damage.
