IGIM introductory seminar 2025

IGIM introductory seminar
In the IGIM's introductory seminar, experts teach the basics of scientific work and research methods with concrete examples from integrative medicine. Students have the opportunity to develop and discuss specific research questions in small groups with doctoral supervisors. Participation in the introductory seminar is a prerequisite for application to the IGIM programme.
What is the IGIM?
The Interprofessional Research Training Group for Integrative Medicine and Health Sciences (IGIM) was established at Witten/Herdecke University in 2021. The IGIM offers a cross-university structured doctoral programme to ensure a solid scientific education for junior researchers (master's and doctoral theses) in integrative medicine. Participation in the research training group programme is free of charge after admission.
A prerequisite for application to the IGIM programme is participation in the introductory seminar. The seminar with lectures and workshops on the basics of scientific work and research methods with concrete examples from integrative medicine starts on Friday, 26 September 2025, at 2 pm and ends on Saturday, 27 September 2025, at 3 pm. There will be the opportunity to develop and discuss specific research questions in small groups with doctoral supervisors. Participation and catering on site is free of charge, participants must organise their own travel and accommodation.
The application deadline for the introductory seminar is 31 August 2025. Anyone interested in doctoral studies/master's thesis in integrative medicine can apply by email to IGIM@uni-wh.de. The application consists of a CV and a letter of motivation (1.5 to 2 pages).
Do you still have questions?
An information event on the IGIM will take place online on 6 August 2025 from 19:00 (registration by e-mail to IGIM@uni-wh.de). You will have the opportunity to ask questions there.
