Current studies show that almost 50% of infants have contact with television and smartphones in the first year of life, with 40% of mothers using media to distract themselves. The S2k guideline of the Association of Scientific Medical Associations (AWMF) emphasises the need for a conscious and regulated approach to screen media in order to prevent risks such as obesity, sleep disorders and developmental delays.

On Wednesday, 9 April 2025, from 18:00 to 21:30, Dr Silke Schwarz will give a lecture on "Media awareness during pregnancy and breastfeeding" as part of the GAÄD's Media & Health livestream.

Her lecture is part of Part I "Pregnancy and early childhood".

The livestream is aimed at doctors, medical students, pharmacists, therapists, carers, educators, parents and interested parties
