Prof Dr Denefa Bostandzic elected to the Supervisory Board of NATIONAL-BANK AG

Prof. Dr Denefa Bostandzic, Professor of Corporate Finance at Witten/Herdecke University (UW/H), was elected to the Supervisory Board of NATIONAL-BANK AG by the General Meeting of Shareholders on 14 May 2025. The election was based on the proposal of the Supervisory Board of 20 March 2025.

"Her election to the Supervisory Board of NATIONAL-BANK AG is impressive proof of the practical relevance and high recognition of her academic work in the field of corporate finance."

Prof Dr Bostandzic has been working at Witten/Herdecke University since 2021. She was previously a junior professor of Management, in particular Finance, at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. She graduated with a degree in economics in 2010 and completed her doctorate in 2014 at Ruhr University Bochum with a thesis on "Systemic Risk and the Financial System".

She has received several awards for her academic achievements, including the University Prize of the Deutsches Aktieninstitut and the Sponsorship Award of the Foundation for Corporate Finance and Capital Markets.

"I am very pleased about the trust placed in me by the shareholders and the Supervisory Board," says Prof Dr Bostandzic.

Witten/Herdecke University also sees the appointment of its professor to an important economic supervisory body as confirmation of its own claim to combine science with social and economic impact.
