Hand in hand for democracy and cohesion - knitting café

In cooperation with Zeit für Solidarität e. V., a creative meeting space is being created at Witten/Herdecke University that brings community to life. In an open and welcoming atmosphere, democracy is not only discussed, but experienced together.
Participants knit scarves together, which are given away to people in need in Witten in autumn and winter - a visible sign of solidarity in action.

At the same time, an open platform offers space for dialogue: thoughts, wishes and ideas about social cohesion and democratic coexistence can be shared and developed here.

In this way, the knitting café combines creative activity with community involvement and strengthens the feeling of being part of an active, solidary society.

Participation in the knitting café is free of charge and is part of the series of events organised by Witten/Herdecke University to mark the anniversary of the Basic Law. During the campaign period from 16 to 31 May, the various formats will focus on democracy, participation and social cohesion.
