StudyCheck Award 2026: Witten/Herdecke University is one of the three most popular universities in Germany

Witten/Herdecke University (UW/H) is once again one of the three most popular universities in Germany and is also the most popular university in North Rhine-Westphalia. This is the result of the latest ranking by the online portal StudyCheck. It achieved a score of 9.01/10 and a recommendation rate of 99 per cent. For this result, the UW/H was awarded the "TOP University in Germany" seal, which only ten universities nationwide have received.

"The fact that our students have once again rated us so highly on StudyCheck is both a great confirmation and an obligation for us," says University President Prof Dr Martin Butzlaff. "It shows that our claim to provide innovative, personality-building higher education is being put into practice in everyday life. We want to provide students with sound specialised knowledge and offer them a place where they can discover new paths, develop a sense of responsibility and actively shape the society of tomorrow."

Witten/Herdecke University prepares young people in the fields of business, health and society for responsible tasks in a changing world. They acquire the specialist knowledge and skills to shape the future. Small learning groups and close dialogue between students and lecturers create a special learning atmosphere at eye level. The start of the 2026 summer semester is approaching: prospective students can still apply for the Bachelor's degree programmes in Business and Society until 15 February 2026.
