TraumaRegister DGU

The register for recording and documenting severely injured patients was founded in 1993 and has been recording all severely injured patients in Germany for around 10 years. Since 2008, the register has been supported by the German Society for Trauma Surgery. The objectives are, on the one hand, comparative external quality assurance across clinics with annual quality reports and, on the other hand, the scientific use of the data for health care research. One of the founders of the register was the former head of the IFOM, and there has been close cooperation for 15 years, particularly with regard to methodological support for scientific analyses and the further development of the register's content.
