AINS colloquium: Emergency psychiatry in emergency services - just PsychKG or more?

In his online lecture, Prof. Dr. Thomas Messer, a specialist in psychiatry and psychotherapy in Ingolstadt, talks about “Emergency psychiatry in the emergency services”. Mental health emergencies in the emergency services pose major challenges for emergency services. When does the law on assistance and protective measures for mental illnesses (PsychKG for short) apply - and when is more needed? Participants will gain an insight into emergency psychiatry and discuss how professional help can be provided in acute crisis situations.
After all, knowing when a psychiatric emergency needs to be considered not only protects those affected, but also the nursing staff. The right methods for confronting patients and being able to assess the situation ultimately also make it possible to initiate targeted and efficient measures. The aim of the presentation is to develop a feeling for situation-appropriate management and to avoid risks.
The AINS Colloquium offers doctors and nursing staff high-quality training events in the fields of anesthesia, intensive care and emergency medicine, pain and palliative medicine.
Participation is free of charge. Registration takes place online.
