Freedom of choice for homeopathy in medical care remains
Petition in the Bundestag was successful
Freedom of choice in medical care will remain, homeopathy and anthroposophic medicine will continue to be covered by the statutory health insurance scheme. This has now been officially decided by the German Bundestag. The petition process, which was discussed in June 2024, is now complete.
The petition had criticized Federal Health Minister Karl Lauterbach's plans to no longer recognize homeopathy and anthroposophic medicine as statutory health insurance benefits. 200,000 people signed the petition, demonstrating how important this issue is to patients.
