Kick-off for GenDiMedNet
UW/H contributes expertise in research data management
The joint project GenDiMedNet was launched in Berlin at the beginning of February 2026 with the participation of Witten/Herdecke University (UW/H). As part of the BMBF's Interactive Technologies for Gender-Specific Health (GeGe) funding guideline, the network is committed to aligning digital health solutions more closely with gender-specific differences.
GenDiMedNet supports researchers in systematically recognising gender-specific differences and incorporating them into the development of new technologies. In workshops, the project team imparts specialist knowledge on gender-sensitive medicine and develops user-centred concepts for innovative healthcare applications together with researchers and future users.
A central component of the project is the standardisation of research data in order to improve its exchange and reuse between research teams. The UW/H's Research Data Management (RDM) department has been involved in the network since December 2025. The RDM officer Annette Strauch-Davey contributes her expertise as a member of the project advisory board and supports the further development of data standards in the network.
UW/H researchers cooperate with various project partners and continue to exchange ideas in the field of research data management, among other things.
