Review of General Practice Day 2025

Review of the Day of General Practice 2025
This year's Day of General Practice (TdA) took place at Witten/Herdecke University on 2 April 2025 - organised by the Institute of General Practice and Primary Care (iamag) in cooperation with the Department of General Practice at Ruhr-Universität Bochum. Over 100 participants - including GPs, medical assistants (MFA), students and academic staff - used the day to exchange ideas, reflect and receive practical training.
Under the motto "Safety in uncertainty", the programme was dedicated to central questions relating to medical decision-making, communication in everyday practice and dealing with uncertainties in diagnostics.
In two keynote speeches, Prof. Norbert Donner-Banzhoff (Marburg) and Prof. Klaus Weckbecker (Witten) shed light on how to deal with alleged errors in GP care and the importance of case analyses from expert practice.
The practical workshops in the morning and afternoon addressed central topics of everyday GP practice: from reducing medication in the case of multi-medication, de-escalation training and resuscitation for medical assistants to psychosocial dialogue and mindfulness in appointments. Dealing with uncertainty in teaching and training was also discussed intensively.
Many thanks to all the speakers and the dedicated organisation team who made this day possible.
The next Day of General Practice will take place at Ruhr University Bochum in 2026.
We look forward to seeing you again!
