Symposium on Women's Health

Women’s health is not just about gynaecology! Why is it useful to adopt a ‘gender perspective’ in almost all medical disciplines? And how can patients and other interested parties incorporate the findings from research into their everyday lives or their healthcare?

In its strategy paper, the WHO has set out the goal of consolidating and further researching integrative medicine within health systems by 2034.

• What treatment approaches are available for treating women holistically?
• Which of these can be put into practice and applied directly at home?

The aim of the symposium is to raise the profile of women’s health and gender-specific aspects of health, and to bring these topics out of the ‘science bubble’ and into the wider social discourse. The symposium also aims to provide a space for exchange, networking and discussion between participants and speakers.

The symposium’s approach: practical, accessible, informative and on an equal footing.

Programme

• 9 April 2027
  • 10.00 am: Opening address by Professor Ute Seeland, Gender-Specific Medicine at the University of Magdeburg and member of the Society for Gender-Specific Medicine
  • Lecture series and panel discussion in the main lecture hall at Witten/Herdecke University
• 10 April 2027:
  • Practical workshops
  • Closing reflection in the form of a panel discussion.

The interprofessional symposium is open for all interested parties. Participation is free of charge.
