Stronger together: Looking out for one another – acting together (Take Care – together!)

Project Overview

The project is run by Diakonie Deutschland. The aim is to establish a caring corporate culture that sustainably enhances job satisfaction, health and team cohesion, and provides better support for staff working in nursing and care.

The focus is on interprofessional training courses on Spiritual/Existential Care (SpECi), which promote staff resilience and self-care and thereby also improve teamwork.

The implementation of these measures is being examined through an accompanying scientific study conducted by the Professorship of Life Quality, Spirituality and Coping at Witten/Herdecke University. Key aspects such as well-being, job satisfaction, perceived stress, resilience and spiritual care competence will be assessed and supplemented with structural indicators from human resources management. In addition, conditions for part-time work and potential increases in working hours will be analysed. The study aims to evaluate the impact of the interventions on a sound basis, identify potential for transfer and derive recommendations for action to ensure the sustainable establishment of a caring corporate culture.

Six diaconal organisations and their institutions are involved in implementing the project.
